According to the Department of Planning and Investment, in November 2006, the whole country has 80 projects licensed the investment certificates with USD 843mil of the new licensed registration. Generally, in the first eleven months, there has been 736 projects licensed with USD 6.15bil of the total investment capital, increased 60.7% as compared with the same period of last year.
Especially, thanks to the Posco steel project which has just been licensed in the beginning of November 2006 with USD 1,126mil of the total investment capital, Ba Ria- Vung Tau province has passed Ho Chi Minh city, heads the list of the country’s foreign investment attraction in the first eleven months, making up 26.6% of the total registered capital of the country; Ho Chi Minh city ranks the 2nd grade accounting for 18.8% of the total registered capital of the country, Binh Duong province ranks the 3rd grade, making up 10.8% of the total registered capital of the country
In addition, according to the Department of Planning and Investment, in the first 11 months, there are 39 countries and territories invested into Vietnam. Korea has passed Hong Kong to head the list of among the countries and territories invested in Vietnam, making up 31.4% of the total of new investment capital; the next is Hong Kong making up 13.6% of the total of new investment capital; the Unites State stands the 3rd grade accounting 10.3% of the total of new investment capital; Japan stands 4th grade of the total of new investment capital. |
